I can't wait to inspire!

As a professional speaker, I have given keynotes to small groups to very large groups up to a 2000 people. With this information, I would like to share how to get the best impact for the keynote with a list of practical requirements and other suggestions.

I can provide speeches in English and Dutch, (and in French on demand)

I can provide a keynote from 20 to 90 minutes and workshops from half a day to 2 days.

I can travel to any location, providing time allows it. For long-haul flights, I fly business class.

Preparation of the event

I prefer to schedule a content preparation call, so that I can align my story to your expectation and maximum impact.

If no call is scheduled, I will assume one of my latest presentations on Chinese innovation.

I normally does not provide you with slides in advance, because slides could change even the day before the conference. In case receiving the deck in advance is mandatory, please let me know during the call so that I have enough time to prepare and share.

My slides are made in Powerpoint format on a MacBook. If you expect to run your slides within your own deck, I would want to schedule a dry-run a few days before the event, as sometimes the fonts and formats can get altered when running on a PC or older Windows versions. If the conversion is not OK, I expect to run on my own MacBook at the event.

I am OK to work with you on a technical check or rehearsal the evening before the event / the day of the event. If the check is required the evening before the event, additional fees may apply.

I have a preference for someone to introduce me prior to coming on stage, based on a short intro as found below.

Please let me know well in advance what time I have to arrive at the event, and how much longer I am expected to stay after the event. In case nothing has been specified, I will arrive typically 1-2 hours in advance and leave within 1 hour after my engagement.

If you want me to stay for lunch or dinner, please take into account my HFI dietary restriction. Please share the menu in advance when possible.

In case I arrive by car, please provide a car parking space or let me know in advance where I can park. In case an overnight stay is required, a hotel room with a good standard of comfort is appreciated.

If you want to order my books for the event, please allow enough time to buy and ship them to the event location. You can find information aabout my books at www.pascalcoppens.com/books

I deliver my keynotes standard in English or Dutch. In case of French, I will require more time to prepare, so inform me well beforehand, otherwise the presentation will be done in English.

At the event

I prefer to use my own MacBook Pro laptop running PPT software. My Mac is to be connected via HDMI. I might requires sound out and my Mac connects to a standard audio jack plug.

I do not have good results with Barco’s clickshare for video & sound, so HDMI is preferred

If my presentation has to run on another computer, I request a rehearsal at least 2 hours prior to the event.

For any audience of more than 30 people, I would prefer a wireless headset or lavalier microphone. A handheld or podium microphone will lower the impact drastically and is not recommended.

I like to walk around on stage, so ideally there are no chairs, desks or stands that would limit my movements too much.

My laptop is controlled by a remote control that I bring along and can reach no more than 10 meters. My laptop can be set up on stage and a power connection should be within 3 meters of the computer. If the laptop is in the back of the room, a clicker should be provided to me.

My presentation can be recorded and pictures can be taken, but do inform me beforehand if a recording will occur. For live streaming of the event, my prior approval is required.

After the event

If you wish to receive my slides, please let me know in advance. I will share with you a lower resolution PDF version of the slides, not including the videos.

If you have recorded my speech, please send me a copy so that I can approve it for internal or external distribution. Please also inform me if I can reuse the recording for marketing purposes in advance; otherwise, I will assume it is fine.

I am willing to do an interview after or before the event with media or internal interviewers. Do let me know in advance if this is required. I'm also fine to join a panel discussion or Q&A after the keynote if time permits it.

I am more than happy for you to share pictures from the conference on social media.
